Ingredients
  • 2 2/3 c. flour
  • 1/4 c. granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • oil for frying
  • powdered sugar for sprinkling
Directions In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Mix well. In a medium bowl beat the eggs, mild, and vanilla until well blended. Add wet mixture to the flour mixture and beat until smooth. In a medium fry pan heat one once of oil over a medium-high heat until hot but not smoking. Holding finger over the bottom of a funnel with a 5/8 inch opening, pour 1/2 cup of batter into the funnel. Drizzle the batter into the hot oil, swirling into spiral from the center outward. Fry until golden brown, turning once. Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve warm.
